Casting Call for Sister Act. 3 x Male Tennors
We are seeking 3 Tenors for our upcoming production of Sister Act.
TJ, Joey and Pablo are streetwise gangsters, flirtatious and seductive in nature with a menacing undertone. However comic timing is required for these merry band of gangsters.
We are seeking a playing age of 20year plus for each of these role.
Good singing ability is required, as each role needs to perform a solo. Some movement ability is need to participate in dancing, but not necessarily a strong dancer.
Joey
Playing age: 20 plus
Voice Range: Tenor
Dance/movement requirements: Minimal movement
Character: Joey is depicted as a charming, wisecracking thug and one of Curtis’s henchmen. He’s known for his upbeat personality and his confidence as a ladies’ man, even though he’s involved in criminal activities. Joey is often portrayed as the comedic voice of the group, ready with a joke or a witty remark.
TJ
Playing age: 20 plus
Voice Range: Tenor
Dance/movement requirements: Minimal movement
Character: In the “Sister Act” story, T.J. is depicted as Curtis’s nephew and one of his thugs, but he’s portrayed as being somewhat oblivious or “ignorant” of the situation he’s involved in. He is a comedic character, enjoying his role as a muscle for Curtis.
Pablo
Playing age: 20 plus
Voice Range: Tenor
Dance/movement requirements: Minimal movement
Character: In Sister Act, Pablo is depicted as a loyal but somewhat clueless thug, one of the henchmen of Curtis, the main antagonist. He’s often seen speaking in Spanish and is generally portrayed as the muscle of the trio, adding a comedic element to the gangster group. Pablo’s character is characterised by his strong, silent demeanor, making him a “strong, silent type” who leans into his role as the group’s physical enforcer.
